Barlicoco Pottery
by Monique Bujold Brown
Monique is a potter from Charlo, New Brunswick.
Her preferred form of ceramic is western raku which she fires in the gas kiln she built with the help of her husband. She also enjoys making functional stoneware pieces she fires in her electric kiln. She is a self-taught potter who’s training occurred mostly through books, the internet and the many workshops she attended in Australia, Canada, the U.S. , The Netherlands, Brazil and China.
Her work has been exhibited solo and in groups in New Brunswick, Australia, and in Belgium. Her pieces are influenced by the Japanese Wabi-Sabi ideology: finding beauty in imperfection, and accepting the natural cycle of growth and decay.
